KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has urged party leaders and cadres to actively participate in rescue and relief efforts following the flood disaster in Rasuwa.
In a social media post, Lamichhane called on party members to act with restraint and responsibility, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of affected citizens should remain their top priority.
He urged all party members, from the local to central levels, to engage in volunteer activities in coordination with local administrations and security agencies.
“In this hour of disaster, we all have the same priority—saving citizens’ lives, ensuring safe rescue and providing humanitarian assistance,” Lamichhane said.
He also appealed to people living in flood- and disaster-prone areas to move to safer locations and avoid remaining in risky areas. He urged them to follow the instructions issued by local authorities and security agencies.
Lamichhane further called on the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and rumors on social media during the crisis.
“A single piece of misinformation can create additional difficulties in rescue and relief operations and spread unnecessary fear among citizens,” he said.
