RASUWA: Nine people, including an inspector of the Armed Police Force (APF), have gone missing following a sudden flood that swept through Timure Bazaar in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.
According to a source, APF Inspector Ambir Khatri and eight others who were deployed at the APF Border Out Post (BOP) in Timure lost contact after the flood struck the area at around 9 am, sweeping away settlements and other structures.
The source said the flood did not damage the BOP itself. Of the 30 personnel stationed there, six are currently on leave, while 15 have been confirmed safe. The remaining nine, who were on duty at the time, are out of contact.
A Nepal Police team deployed in the Timure area has also reportedly lost contact following the incident.
Initial reports indicate that Timure Bazaar suffered extensive damage after floodwaters entered the area from the direction of China. Mud and debris carried by the flood reportedly swept away houses, shops and vehicles in the market area.
Search and rescue efforts are underway to locate the missing APF personnel. However, authorities have yet to release detailed information about the incident, while police and local administration officials are assessing the extent of the damage.
