Two arrested with suspected narcotics in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: Police have arrested two people on suspicion of possessing and distributing narcotic drugs in Birgunj, Parsa.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police and District Police Office spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Malla, the arrests were made after police received information that narcotic drugs were being sold from the Jai Nepal Hotel at Rajat Jayanti Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16.

A joint team from the Inaruwa Police Post and the Narcotics Control Bureau, Parsa, searched the hotel and recovered suspected narcotic substances, DSP Malla said.

Police identified the suspects as 52-year-old Uttam Kumar Pathak of Ratnanagar Municipality-6, Chitwan, and 35-year-old Osim Thakur of Birgunj Metropolitan City-2.

Both have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway, police said.
