Kunwar arrested for vandalizing Bhanubhakta statue



KATHMANDU: Lamjung Police have arrested a man on charges of vandalizing the statues of Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya and Khadka Bahadur Thapa of Birgunj at Bhanu Ghansi Sambad Park near the Boudha Risti Khola Bridge in Madhya Nepal Municipality-4, Durdipul.

According to the District Police Office, Roshan Kunwar, 24, a permanent resident of Byas Municipality-7 in Tanahun who is currently living in Lamjung, was arrested during an investigation into the incident, which occurred on the night of July 23.

Police said the Lamjung District Court has granted a five-day remand to Kunwar for investigation under a criminal charge.
