Nepali Mayors visit Magen David Adom Facilities during MUNI Expo 2026 in Israel

KATHMANDU: Thirty mayors from around the world visited Magen David Adom facilities in Ramla and Jerusalem as part of the Muni Expo Conference 2026, organized in cooperation between the Public Diplomacy Division of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Magen David Adom.

MUNI Expo 2026, Israel’s premier conference and innovation exhibition for the municipal sector, took place on 23–24 June 2026.

The Nepali delegation included Dhana Raj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City; Sunita Dangol, Acting Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City; and Manoj Kumar Sah Sudi, Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City. Also participating were Nabin Manandhar, Spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Chairperson of KMC Ward-17, and Prem Thapa, Chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 3.

The delegation toured MDA’s National Headquarters and Operations Center, the new state-of-the-art National Blood Services Center, the National Human Milk Bank, the MDA Paramedic School, and the National Emergency Dispatch Center, as well as advanced emergency response vehicles.

They learned about Israel’s emergency preparedness, disaster response, and MDA’s life-saving work during both routine operations and emergencies. The mayors were also introduced to MDA’s specialized emergency vehicles and technologies.

MDA Director General Eli Bin said: “We were delighted to host mayors from Nepal, Panama, and Chile at Magen David Adom, Israel’s National Emergency Medical, Disaster, Ambulance, and Blood Service organization, and to provide them with an overview of MDA’s activities, discuss shared challenges and potential areas for cooperation, and share some of the extensive operational knowledge we have accumulated at MDA.”

“I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its efforts and for this important initiative to strengthen the relationship between MDA and the international community. In addition to advanced life-saving technologies and capabilities, the mayors were exposed to the human diversity within Magen David Adom, which unites all sectors of Israeli society in the shared mission of saving lives.”

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss shared challenges, and strengthen international cooperation in emergency medical services and disaster preparedness.
