Lumbini Provincial Assembly to begin discussion on policy and programme



LUMBINI: The discussion on the policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 is set to begin today in the seventh meeting of the eighth session of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly.

According to the agenda published by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, today’s meeting will initiate deliberations on the government’s annual policy and programme for the next fiscal year.

At the beginning of the session, lawmakers will present their views on contemporary issues during zero hour. Following this, Social Development Minister Janamjay Timilsina is scheduled to table the “Bill to Protect the Traditional Practices of the Tharu Community, 2083” in the assembly.

Similarly, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya will present the government’s annual policy and programme for fiscal year 2083/84 before the House.

Provincial Assembly member Tulsi Prasad Chaudhary will table a motion of thanks on the policy and programme address, which will be seconded by member Jamuna Dhakal. The Speaker will then put the motion to a decision.

Afterward, Chief Minister Acharya will propose initiating formal discussion on the annual policy and programme, followed by deliberations from assembly members as per the agenda set by the Secretariat.
