Jaleshwor inundated after heavy rainfall

MAHOTTARI: The district headquarters of Mahottari, Jaleshwor, has been inundated following heavy rainfall accompanied by hail.

Due to poor drainage, rainwater accumulated in several parts of the town, including Municipality Chowk, Shankar Chowk, Meena Bazaar, Mahendra Chowk, Hospital Chowk, and Khaira Chowk. As a result, most roads in the town have been submerged, making pedestrian movement difficult.

Locals reported that vehicular movement has also been severely affected as roads remain waterlogged.

Government offices and private institutions in the district headquarters have also been inundated. Residents said that due to an inadequate drainage system, the market area in Jaleshwor often faces flooding even during normal rainfall.
