41 people arrested with drugs from various parts of country



KATHMANDU: Police on routine patrol have arrested 41 individuals from different parts of the country on drug-related charges.

A teenager was arrested from Jadibuti, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, with 130 Tramadol tablets—which are available only with a doctor’s prescription—and Rs 68,200 in cash.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, several individuals were arrested from multiple districts with brown heroin.

Those arrested include one person from Tikapur Municipality-1 in Kailali, two from Ghodaghodi Municipality-10 (Pahalmanpur), and two from Simtali Chowk of Birendranagar Municipality-8 in Surkhet.

Similarly, one person was arrested from Buddhabhumi Municipality-9 in Kapilvastu, two from Baschowk of Inaruwa Municipality-4 in Sunsari, and two from Bhanuchowk of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-15 in Dang.

The arrests were made on Saturday, and police also recovered cash and drug-weighing scales from the suspects.

In another operation, one person was arrested from Sukedhara, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4, with brown heroin, while two others were detained from Balkhuchowk with 998 Tramadol tablets and Rs 16,500 in cash.

Further arrests include two individuals from Suryodaya Municipality-11, Kalapani in Ilam, nine from Bhadrapur Municipality-5 in Jhapa, and two from Shivasatakshi Municipality-1.

Similarly, two people were arrested from Bedkot Municipality-8 in Kanchanpur and another two from Bhimdatta Municipality-11, Gaddachauki. In Rupandehi, two individuals were detained from Gobraiya in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-15, along with one person from Sainamaina Municipality-5, Buddhanagar.

In another set of arrests, one person each was detained from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-15, Bisauni of Triveni Rural Municipality-2 in Rukum West, and Sheetalpur of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-5 in Dang. Four individuals were also arrested from Ranipur of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-6 in Bardiya.

Likewise, two people were arrested from Prasyang of Pokhara Metropolitan City-5, and one from Radhapur of Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-2 in Dhanusha.

Police also recovered 250 Nitrazepam tablets—which also require a doctor’s prescription—from some of the suspects.
