Nepal reports over 7,200 disaster incidents since April 2025



KATHMANDU: A total of 7,231 disaster incidents have been recorded across the country since mid-April 2025, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

The incidents have affected 13,098 families, with 479 fatalities and 1,800 injuries reported during the period.

Data from the authority show that fire incidents accounted for the highest number at 3,480, followed by 321 floods, 604 landslides, 442 cases of heavy rainfall, 406 lightning strikes, and 600 snakebite cases.

Other recorded incidents include 279 forest fires, 451 storms, 504 animal attacks, 123 additional landslides, and five avalanches. There were also seven earthquakes, two hailstorms, two boat capsize incidents, and isolated cases of windstorms and cold waves.
