Two killed in separate road accidents in Sunsari



INARUWA: Two people have died in separate road accidents in Sunsari district on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Sunsari, 32-year-old Bijay Rishidev of Duhabi Municipality-5 and 47-year-old Girijananda Sah of Chinnamasta Rural Municipality-6 in Saptari lost their lives in the incidents.

Rishidev was riding a motorcycle (Ko 25 Pa 149) when he lost control on the inner road at Guptatol in Barahakshetra Municipality-11. He sustained serious injuries and died during treatment. Dipen Rishidev of Duhabi-5, who was riding pillion, was injured in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment.

In a separate incident last night, Girijananda Sah was fatally hit by a car while crossing the Koshi Highway at Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-13. The vehicle (Province 1-001-001 Cha 7505), heading from Biratnagar towards Itahari, ran over him, causing his death on the spot.

Police said the car went out of control after the incident and collided with an autorickshaw (Pra 1-02-003 Ha 4898) traveling in the same direction. Basant Ghising, 44, the autorickshaw driver from Itahari-20, Prem Kumar Gurung, 59, a passenger, and Viki Bishwakarma, 22, the car driver from Itahari-12, sustained minor injuries.

The District Police Office, Sunsari, said further investigation into the incidents is underway.
