National Security Council meeting underway at Singha Durbar



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) is currently underway at Singha Durbar.

The meeting is being held at the National Security Council Secretariat Office in Singha Durbar, a participant confirmed. Discussions are ongoing, with the council expected to deliberate on the country’s current security situation and preparations for the upcoming election.

The Prime Minister chairs the National Security Council. Other members include the Defence Minister, Home Minister, Foreign Minister and Finance Minister, along with the Chief Secretary, Chief of the Army Staff and the Defence Secretary, who serves as the member secretary.

The council plays a key role in advising the government on matters related to national security and defence policy.
