Deuba faction moves SC to halt NC general convention

KATHMANDU: The faction led by former Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has filed a supplementary petition at the Supreme Court (SC) seeking to halt preparations for the party’s 15th general convention.

The Deuba faction has argued that the general convention should not proceed until the Supreme Court decides whether to review the dispute concerning the party’s special general convention, which is currently pending before the court.

The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on the petition for August 27.
