NADA Auto Show 2026 to begin today

KATHMANDU: The 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show 2026 is set to begin at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu today (Tuesday), bringing together new automobile technologies and brands of two- and four-wheelers ahead of the autumn festive season.

Organised by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, the five-day event will run through August 30. The show also marks the association’s golden jubilee this year.

More than 150 brands are participating in the event, with over 200 stalls displaying vehicles, automobile components, financial services and other products and services linked to the industry. The theme of this year’s exhibition is “From Industry to Employment.”

NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti said the association has sought to give each edition of the auto show a distinct focus. He said the event is intended not only to promote vehicle sales but also to explore the future prospects of Nepal’s transportation and mobility sector.

The exhibition features vehicles assembled and manufactured in Nepal, along with component manufacturers, spare-parts suppliers and other businesses supporting the automobile industry.

Upreti said Nepal could eventually develop the capacity to manufacture automobiles if the government adopts a consistent long-term policy. He said a decade of supportive policies could help create the foundation for automobile manufacturing in the country.

Meanwhile, more than 14 two-wheeler brands are participating in the exhibition, including brands whose vehicles are assembled in Nepal.

Electric vehicles are expected to remain one of the main attractions of this year’s auto show, reflecting their rapidly growing presence in Nepal’s automobile market.
