Bulldozers move into Thapathali squatter settlement as residents vacate area



KATHMANDU: The government has deployed bulldozers in the squatter settlement at Thapathali in Kathmandu, beginning the clearance of encroached structures.

A large number of security personnel were mobilized early Saturday, and the demolition of structures built on the encroached land began from around 9 am.

Police had earlier issued a public notice through mic announcements, giving residents time until Friday evening to vacate the area.
