Residents scramble to move belongings as bulldozers roll into Thapathali settlement



KATHMANDU: Residents of the squatter settlement at Thapathali were seen hurriedly moving their belongings after bulldozers were deployed to clear the encroached area on Saturday.

As the eviction drive began early in the morning, families started packing and transporting household items, bracing for the demolition of their homes.

A joint team from the police administration and Kathmandu Metropolitan City has been mobilized at the site to carry out the clearance.

The drive was initiated following instructions from Balen Shah, who has said the move is part of efforts to address the squatter issue with a long-term solution.
