Three firms fined for violations



KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has imposed fines on three firms after detecting irregularities during on-site inspections.

According to the department, Dasharath Grocery Pvt. Ltd. in Imadol has been fined Rs 50,000, while Shah & Shah Enterprises in Balkot, Suryabinayak has been fined Rs 10,000. Similarly, A & A Shopping Center in Tikathali, Mahalaxmi-5 has been fined Rs 5,000.

The Department said the penalties were imposed after illegal transactions were identified during inspections. Action was taken in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS.

In addition, corrective instructions have been issued to 15 other firms. The Department has been carrying out regular market monitoring in coordination with local representatives, consumer rights activists, and relevant stakeholders.
