Cabinet meeting: 16th Plan Implementation Action-Plan approved



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Council of Ministers convened on February 24 has approved the 16th Plan Implementation Action-Plan (2081 BS-2086 BS).

Unveiling the major decisions of the Cabinet meeting here today, Minister for Home Affairs, Om Prakash Aryal, shared that two under-secretaries have been promoted and appointed to the position of Gazetted First Class Officers in the country’s judicial service.

The decision was made at the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, said Minister Aryal, also the Spokesperson of the government.

Aryal also mentioned that two Lieutenant Colonels of the Nepali Army have been promoted to the rank of Colonels while two Colonels are transferred.

Furthermore, he informed that the tenure of the commission formed to investigate the Supreme Court’s order related to the transport sector has been extended by a month.

If security personnel or election police sustain injuries during the March 5’s House of Representatives (HoR) election, it has been decided that the government will bear the cost of treatment and in case of death, the dependent families of the deceased will be provided with the financial assistance.

Announcing other key decisions, Minister Aryal said that the government has designated the District Courts in all 77 districts to resolve the cases related to the offences under Section 140 of the Insurance Act-2079 BS.

The government also decided to exempt tax to the Kalanki to Basundhara stretch of the Kathmandu Ring Road Improvement Project being undertaken in the grant assistance of the government of China, it was shared.

Additionally, the Minister said that the government decided to organize the 10th National Games in an appropriate time after the conduct of the election to the House of Representatives.
