Kanchanpur border points with India to close for HoR polls



KANCHANPUR: All border crossings between Kanchanpur and India will be sealed to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful House of Representatives (HoR) election.

Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Chandra Joshi of the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur said the decision targets the upcoming HoR election. According to him, all border points in the district adjoining India will remain closed from 12:00 midnight on March 2 until 12:00 midnight on March 5.

In addition, vehicular movement will be restricted from 12:00 midnight on March 4 until the completion of voting. Except for ambulances, security and emergency vehicles, fire engines, telecommunications and electricity service vehicles, hearses, hospital service vehicles, and diplomatic vehicles bearing CD number plates, all other vehicles will be barred from operating during the restriction period.

Officials stated that the measures have been adopted to conduct the election in a peaceful, orderly, and disciplined manner.
