Light rain, snowfall forecast in some hilly areas of Nepal



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the influence of a low-pressure system, bringing cloudy skies to many hilly and mountainous regions.

The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of the possibility of light rain and snowfall in some areas today and tonight.

According to the Division, the weather is generally cloudy in most hilly and mountainous areas, including Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces, while it remains mainly clear in other regions.

This afternoon, the high hilly and mountainous areas are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Light rain and snowfall are possible in some high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two locations in other high hilly and mountainous areas. In the morning, fog is likely in a few areas of the eastern and central Terai.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas, including Sudurpaschim province, and mainly clear in other areas. Light rain and snowfall are possible in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
