PM Shah to return to Kathmandu after three-day private visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah has been in Gandaki Province for three days on a private family visit.

PM Shah, who left Kathmandu for Pokhara on Friday, travelled to Mustang on Saturday. Chitrangat Baral, Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, who returned from Mustang on Sunday and is currently in Pokhara, confirmed the visit.

“Since the Prime Minister is on a strictly private family visit, we do not have much information,” Baral said. “He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Monday.”

Prime Minister Shah travelled from Kathmandu to Mustang by road before returning to Pokhara. He visited Muktinath Temple on Saturday. The District Administration Office, Kaski, said there is no formal programme for the Prime Minister because the visit is private.

Shah stayed at the Annapurna Ecovillage Resort in Astam, Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-6, Kaski, on Friday. After returning from Mustang on Sunday, he stayed at a resort in Pokhara. This is the first time Shah has undertaken a private family visit since becoming Prime Minister.
