President Paudel calls for national unity to achieve prosperity



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized the need to strengthen national unity to achieve economic and social prosperity in the country.

Addressing a program organized at Sheetal Niwas on Friday to mark the 225th birth anniversary of national figure Bhimsen Thapa and present awards and honors, President Paudel said national unity must be built on the foundation of brotherhood, friendship, tolerance and mutual respect.

He stressed that Nepal’s commitment to patriotism should not be weakened and that the country must move forward by inspiring future generations with a strong sense of national pride.

President Paudel called on citizens to work together to eliminate corruption, distortions and irregularities while accelerating national development through good governance.

He said Nepal’s identity and pride as a nation have been made possible due to the sacrifices, courage and contributions of ancestors.

Highlighting the contributions of Bhimsen Thapa, President Paudel described him as an honest and capable administrator who introduced significant reforms in social, economic, legal and military sectors during his tenure.

The event also honored border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha for his contributions.
