RSP voting rescheduled for 10 PM due to technical issues

CHITWAN: Voting for the central committee members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, which was scheduled to take place today as part of the party’s ongoing national convention in Chitwan, has been postponed after failing to begin at the designated time.

The election committee had initially set the voting schedule to start at 8:30 AM. However, the process was delayed after technical preparations related to the electronic voting system could not be completed on time.

According to Election Committee Chief Bhuvan K.C., the party decided to reschedule voting to 10 PM as work on configuring and testing the electronic voting machines is still underway.

He said the technical team is carrying out the necessary tasks to ensure the voting system functions smoothly before polling begins.

Under the revised schedule released by the election committee, voting will start at 10 PM and continue until 10 AM on Thursday. Delegates participating in the convention will cast their votes through an electronic voting system.

The committee estimates that each delegate may require around 10 to 15 minutes to complete the voting process. Given the large number of representatives attending the convention, polling will need to continue for an extended period, officials said.

The RSP national convention has been underway in Chitwan since Sunday. The gathering is being viewed as a key political event for the party as it seeks to elect its leadership and strengthen its organizational structure.

The election committee said vote counting and the announcement of results will begin after the completion of polling.
