KATHMANDU: Srishti Bhattarai has responded to criticism surrounding viral photographs featuring her alongside former Home Minister Sudan Gurung.
The photos, which have circulated widely on social media in recent days, were taken in a casual style resembling those commonly seen among school and college students. The images have sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporters praising them while many others posted negative comments.
Following the criticism, Bhattarai addressed the issue through social media, claiming that she was being targeted simply for “looking beautiful” in the pictures.
She accused critics of hypocrisy, arguing that some people who remain silent on corruption issues were quick to criticize her appearance instead.
“People who cannot speak against corruption are criticizing me merely for looking beautiful,” Bhattarai wrote. “This is the height of hypocrisy.”
She further questioned whether she should feel discouraged by the criticism or take it as proof that her appearance had drawn significant public attention.
“Should I be upset because of the criticism, or happy that my beauty attracted so much attention?” she added.
