KATHMANDU: British Indo-Pacific Minister Seema Malhotra visited the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu on Sunday.
During the visit, Minister Malhotra also offered prayers at other shrines located within the main temple premises, according to Arun Shrestha, acting chief of the Culture Division at the Pashupati Area Development Trust.
After the worship, she received tika and prasad from the temple’s chief priest, Ganesh Bhatta. The Trust’s archaeology officer, Sushil Kumar Gautam, briefed the minister about the historical and religious significance of Pashupatinath, including its ancient monasteries and temples.
Following the visit, Minister Malhotra wrote in the Trust’s visitor book that she had a meaningful spiritual experience and greatly enjoyed the visit.
She was welcomed at the temple premises by Pashupati Area Development Trust Member Secretary Ram Bahadur Kunwar and other senior officials.
Minister Malhotra arrived in Nepal on Friday for an official visit. On Saturday, she also visited Tilaurakot in Kapilvastu.
