27 held in Tanahun during anti-drug drive



DAMAULI: The District Police Office, Tanahun, has arrested 27 individuals during a “sweep operation” carried out as part of a special anti-drug campaign.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar BK said the operation, conducted from Thursday until today, targeted individuals involved in drug use and trafficking.

According to police, one of the arrested individuals is being investigated under relevant laws, while another has been sent to a rehabilitation center in coordination with family members.

The remaining individuals underwent screening, including documentation of details and background checks, received counseling, and were subsequently handed over to their families.

Police said the campaign was launched with drug control as a top priority.

“The police are continuously monitoring and taking action to curb drug use and trafficking. Such campaigns will continue in the future with the aim of ensuring a safe and healthy society,” DSP BK said.
