Trump gives Iran “One More Chance” at peace amid conflicting reports on US-Iran talks

WASHINGTON DC: President Donald Trump claimed that the United States and Iran have engaged in discussions aimed at a “complete and total resolution of hostilities” in the Middle East.

Posting on social media, Trump announced a five-day postponement of planned strikes on Iranian power plants, a move that immediately pushed oil and gas prices lower.

Following his initial post, Trump warned that Iran has “one more chance” to pursue peace. However, Iran’s parliament speaker denied that any talks had taken place, calling the reports “fake news” and accusing the US of attempting to manipulate global oil markets.

The fast-moving and unpredictable nature of the conflict underscores rising tensions, according to Washington correspondents. Meanwhile, military strikes continue to target Tehran and Beirut, with Lebanon’s health ministry reporting 1,039 deaths since the conflict began last month.
