Light rain and snowfall expected in high-altitude areas



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the influence of western winds, resulting in generally cloudy conditions in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has been reported at a few locations in Sudurpaschim Province, while the rest of the country is experiencing mainly clear weather.

According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the high hilly and mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy this afternoon, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. There is a possibility of light snowfall or rain at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas. The Division has also forecast light rain at one or two places in the remaining areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light snowfall or rain is likely at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
