KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal visited the Nepali Consulate General in New York, the United States, on Tuesday.
Khanal, who is in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, was briefed on the consulate’s activities, services and matters concerning the Nepali community.
During a briefing hosted by Consul General Dadhiram Bhandari, Khanal was briefed on the role of Nepali diplomatic missions abroad in protecting national interests, providing consular services to Nepali citizens, and strengthening Nepal’s economic, social and cultural ties.
Consulate officials also briefed the minister on ongoing activities, future plans and efforts to improve service delivery.
On the occasion, Khanal called for continued coordination and cooperation among relevant agencies to ensure prompt and effective services to Nepali citizens and to further promote Nepal’s interests abroad.
