KAILALI: The body of a youth who went missing after falling at Surugada Chipley Waterfall in Chure Rural Municipality-5, Kailali, has been recovered.
Khagraj Pant, 22, son of Ramesh Pant of Thekila in Ajaymeru Rural Municipality-3, Dadeldhura, had gone to the waterfall for a visit when he slipped and fell on Saturday.
Following the incident, a joint search operation was launched in the waterfall and surrounding areas with the involvement of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and local residents.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Timilsena, information officer at the District Police Office, Kailali, Pant’s body was found today approximately 500 metres downstream from the waterfall.
Police said Pant had been studying the Korean language at Denit Institute in Dhangadhi. His body has been sent to Dhangadhi for a post-mortem examination, according to the District Police Office, Kailali.
Meanwhile, the recently viral Chipley Waterfall has been attracting an increasing number of visitors.
Police have urged tourists to exercise extra caution as the waterfall area has slippery surfaces and potentially hazardous terrain.
