Man drowns in river in Parsa



BIRGUNJ: A man has died after drowning in the Dhongahi River in Parsa.

According to police, around 60-year-old Brahmadev Raut Ahir of Bahudarmai Municipality-1 drowned while grazing buffaloes near the river in Bindabasini Rural Municipality-2.

After receiving information from locals that Ahir had gone missing in the river, a joint team of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police launched a search operation. The Armed Police Force team was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Regmi from the Security Base, Pokhariya, while the Nepal Police team was led by Police Inspector Pradeep Poudel from the Area Police Office, Pokhariya.

During the search, the Armed Police Force team recovered Ahir’s body from beneath the river’s surface. The body was sent to Narayani Hospital for examination, said Mohan Raj Niraula, Deputy Superintendent of Police at Armed Police Force Nepal No. 13 Battalion, Parsa.
