KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwo Prakash Sharma has said that no one can achieve their goals by criticizing or attacking others, urging party members to remain focused on their broader mission.
Speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on Thursday to mark B.P. Memorial Day, Sharma said constant engagement in responding to criticism could divert attention from the party’s core objectives.
“No one reaches their destination by criticizing others or throwing stones at them,” Sharma said. “If we spend all our time countering every criticism, our main goal can easily be overshadowed.”
He called on party members to embrace the ideals, values and philosophy of the late B.P. Koirala while connecting them with the aspirations of the 21st-century generation.
Sharma said the Nepali Congress should prioritize long-term social transformation alongside politics, highlighting issues such as eliminating child labour and producing qualified teachers.
“We need not only those who sacrificed their lives for revolution, but also capable teachers and new ideas to promote social transformation and good governance,” he said.
Sharma also said the team led by Gagan Thapa was committed to advancing B.P. Koirala’s principles with “a new approach, new thinking and renewed determination.”
He urged Nepalis both at home and abroad to support what he described as a new political and social journey.
