Hotel fined Rs 300,000 after fish bone found in Home Minister’s omelette



KATHMANDU: A hotel where Home Minister Sudan Gurung was served an omelette containing a fish bone has been fined Rs 300,000.

The incident took place at Lords Plaza Hotel in Chitwan, where the minister was having a meal. Following the discovery of the fish bone in the omelette, police took two hotel employees into custody for questioning.

Home Minister Gurung had travelled to Chitwan to attend the national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and had eaten at the hotel located near Bharatpur Airport.

Following the incident, authorities said further investigation was initiated to determine whether the matter resulted from negligence in the food preparation process or other circumstances.
