Nepal Army holds interaction with retired generals at Army Headquarters



KATHMANDU: An interaction and meeting programme with retired generals was held at the Army Headquarters, the Nepal Army said on Friday.

During the programme, discussions were held on the responsibilities carried out by the Nepal Army since its establishment, its key operational roles, welfare activities, and contemporary issues related to national security.

According to the Army, the event also reviewed ongoing institutional reforms and welfare initiatives being implemented within the organization.

Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel expressed respect for the contribution of retired senior leadership, stating that their dedication continues to inspire the modernization and capacity development of the institution.

He said the experience and guidance of former military leaders play an important role in strengthening the Army’s commitment to national duty and safeguarding national interests.

The Nepal Army stated that such interactions help maintain continuous coordination between serving and retired personnel, while also providing valuable suggestions for institutional improvement.

The Army added that feedback from former generals contributes to reinforcing national responsibility and overall security preparedness.
