JUMLA: The District Administration Office (DAO) Jumla has begun delivering passports to the homes of service recipients through the postal service, marking a new step in public service delivery in the district.
According to District Administration Office Jumla Passport Section Chief Nar Bahadur Budha, a total of 149 passports have so far been delivered to citizens across all eight local levels in the district.
Under an agreement between the DAO and the Jumla Postal Office, passports are being delivered directly to applicants’ homes. So far, 61 passports were delivered on May 7, 19 on May 11, and 25 on May 19, officials said.
Chief District Officer Deepak Paudel said the service has been introduced as part of the government’s 100-day reform action plan, aiming to make public services more accessible.
He said passports are now being delivered to service seekers’ doorsteps through coordination with the District Postal Office, reducing the need for repeated office visits.
Officials said the initiative is expected to improve efficiency and convenience for citizens, especially in remote and geographically challenging districts like Jumla.
