PM Cup NVA Volleyball League begins today



KATHMANDU: The 10th edition of the Prime Minister’s Cup NVA Women’s and Men’s Volleyball League gets underway today, featuring eight men’s teams and six women’s teams.

Organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA), the 10-day tournament will be held at the Covered Hall of Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu.

According to the match schedule, four games will be played on the opening day across both categories.

In the women’s competition, the opening match will see APF take on Tribhuvan Army Club at 8 am, followed by Nepal Police Club against Everest Volleyball Club at 10 am.

In the men’s category, Help Nepal Club will face Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club at 12 noon, while Tribhuvan Army Club will meet Khilji Youth Club at 4 pm.

The league will follow a single round-robin format, with a total of 45 matches across both divisions. The men’s category will feature 28 matches, while the women’s division will have 15 league-stage games.

The men’s league includes Help Nepal Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Khilji Youth Club (Lumbini), Rukum Paschim Volleyball Club, Koshi Province Volleyball Club and Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club.

In the women’s category, the competing teams are New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Everest Volleyball Club and Sudurpaschim Province team.

The top two teams from each category after the league stage will advance to the final.

Winners in both categories will receive a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1 million, while the runners-up will get Rs 500,000 and third place Rs 250,000.
