Economist Keshav Acharya passes away



KATHMANDU: Economic expert Keshav Acharya has passed away.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Annapurna Neuro Hospital, Kathmandu this morning, his son Shikhar Acharya informed RSS.

His body is now being kept at Om Hospital, Chabahil and will be cremated on Tuesday, Shikhar said.

Acharya was admitted to Medicare Hospital after he complained complications in his health on last Tuesday. Then he was taken to Annapurna Neuro Hospital for the treatment of brain hemorrhage.

According to family sources, Acharya’s daughter Achala will arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning and then his last rites will be performed.

Acharya who served the Nepal Rastra Bank for over three decades retired from Executive Director.

He had also discharged the role of Senior Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Finance. He was expert in monetary and fiscal policies.
