Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu marks 86th National Day



KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu held a flag hoisting ceremony today to mark the 86th National Day of Pakistan.

Pakistani Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi raised the national flag on the chancery building, while messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read on the occasion.

In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity, and called for strengthening democratic institutions, promoting equality, and empowering women.

Likewise, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the historic significance of 23rd March in Pakistan’s history and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peace, regional stability, and dialogue.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar paid tribute to the leadership and efforts of Pakistan’s forefathers that led to the creation of the country.

In his remarks, Ambassador Hashmi congratulated the Pakistani community in Nepal and commended their contributions. He highlighted the historic significance of 23 March 1940, paid tribute to the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and announced that the Pakistan National Day Reception would not be held this year in line with the Prime Minister’s instructions.
