Partial impact of westerly system to bring rain, snowfall in parts of Nepal



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Nepal has said that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of a westerly system along with local winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, most hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, are seeing generally cloudy conditions, while other parts of the country remain partly cloudy.

A few places in Koshi Province are witnessing light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with snowfall in higher elevations.

For today, the department has forecast generally cloudy conditions in hilly and mountainous areas, with partial cloud cover expected in the Tarai region.

There is a possibility of light rainfall with thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpashchim Province and at isolated locations in other similar regions across the country.
