37 on board bus that fell into Trishuli River



DHADING: The bus that met with a fatal accident in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality–5 of Dhading District on Monday morning had departed from Pokhara carrying 37 people, including the driver and staff.

According to the Prithvi Highway Bus Operators Committee, the bus was carrying 34 passengers along with the driver and two staff members when it left Pokhara.

The bus (Ga 1 Kha 1421) had departed from the Tourist Bus Park in Pokhara at 7 pm on Sunday, said Committee Chair Ain Bahadur Sai.

“When the bus left Pokhara, there were 37 people on board, including the driver and staff. It is estimated that additional passengers may have boarded along the way. Detailed information is yet to arrive,” he said.

At least 18 people have died in the accident, while 24 others were injured.
