Construction begins on 303-meter suspension bridge over Myagdi River

MYAGDI: Construction has started on a 303-meter-long suspension bridge over the Myagdi River, linking Kausibot in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-7 with Bansbot in Ward No. 4 of the same municipality.

The project is being implemented by the federal government’s Suspension Bridge Division in Kathmandu. According to Rural Municipality Chair Prem Prasad Pun, Ramkrishna-Somers JV, awarded the contract, has accelerated work on the bridge structure.

The contract worth Rs 16.415 million was signed last July with a completion deadline of 18 months. However, company representative Prabin Sapkota said the construction company aims to complete the bridge within the current fiscal year.

Construction of the structure on the Kausibot side is in its final stage, while foundation work and site preparation have been completed on the Bansbot side. The contractor plans to install cables and steel beams once the main structural components are ready.
