KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balen Shah is leaving for New York today to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
Prime Minister Shah is leading a four-member delegation to attend the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA. He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 24.
Following the significant loss of lives and property caused by the Bhote Koshi floods on August 26, Shah is expected to draw the international community’s attention to the impacts of climate change.
A delegation led by Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal had already departed for New York on September 20 to participate in the General Assembly.
