KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament is scheduled for today. The meeting will begin at 1:00 PM, during which Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will present a motion to consider the ‘Citizen Investment Trust (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083.’
Meanwhile, meetings of four parliamentary committees are also scheduled to take place today, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat. The committees are the Finance Committee; the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee; the Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee; and the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee.
The Finance Committee will meet at 10:00 AM to hold a theoretical discussion on the ‘Bill Designed to Amend and Repeal Certain Nepal Laws Related to Finance.’ The committee will discuss the bill with lawmakers who have registered amendment proposals.
The Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee will also meet at 10:00 AM. Its agenda includes discussion of the draft report on the ‘National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081.’
The Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee will meet at 11:15 AM. Discussions will focus on the status of domestic, foreign, private, and public investment in Nepal; the impact of climate change on the investment climate; the organization of investment summits at the national and provincial levels; and necessary policy and legal reforms to create a favorable investment environment.
The Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will meet at 11:30 AM. The committee will hold discussions with experts on the draft ‘Library Policy.’
