BIRGUNJ: The locals in Birgunj obstructed the Birgunj-Pathlaiya road section on Saturday, too, protesting the murder of a three-year-old girl. Saturday marked the fourth day of the protest by locals in Birgunj over the murder of Garima Chaudhary.
They have demanded justice for the victim’s family. The girl, who had been missing since the morning on August 16, was found dead near her house on August 18, according to Chakra Bahadur Malla, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Parsa.
Earlier Thursday night, a five-point agreement was reached with the protestors in the presence of the local administration, representatives of political parties and the people’s representatives from the Jitpursimara Sub- Metropolis, the victim’s family refused to end the protest, saying that they were not involved in and did not agree with the agreement.
Various political parties and organisations have also protested against the incident, demanding severe action against those responsible for the crime.
