Nepal women defeat Malaysia by seven wickets in second T20I



KATHMANDU: The Nepal women’s national cricket team registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Malaysia women’s national cricket team in the second Women’s T20 International match on Friday.

Played at the Bayuemas Oval, Malaysia set a modest target of 83 runs for Nepal.

In reply, Nepal chased down the target in 16 overs, losing three wickets in the process.

Samjhana Khadka top-scored for Nepal with 39 runs, while Kabita Kunwar contributed 19 runs and Sony Pakhrin added 12.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Malaysia scored 82 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Malaysia, Aina Hamizah scored the highest with 17 runs, while Dhanusri Muhunan made 15 and Arina Natasya added 13.

With the ball, Kabita Kunwar, Rubina Chhetry, and Riya Sharma claimed two wickets each for Nepal. Puja Mahato and Sita Rana Magar took one wicket apiece.
