KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta held a meeting with Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, the meeting focused on health cooperation and ongoing collaboration between Nepal and the WHO.
Ministry Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said the discussion was productive and constructive. During the meeting, WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros reaffirmed the organization’s continued commitment to supporting Nepal in the health sector.
“WHO is always committed to cooperation and support with Nepal,” Dr. Tedros said during the meeting, according to the ministry.
Minister Mehta described the meeting as highly fruitful. She has been participating in the World Health Assembly leading a three-member Nepali delegation.
On the sidelines of the assembly, Minister Mehta also held bilateral meetings with her counterparts from India and China.
