Westerly system to bring rain and snow in several regions

KATHMANDU: Weather conditions across Nepal are expected to remain unsettled today, with light rain in parts of Koshi and Lumbini and possible snowfall in hilly and mountainous areas.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in the hills and mountains, with partly cloudy skies in the Tarai region.

Meteorological analysis indicates that the country is currently under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system combined with local wind patterns, which is contributing to unstable weather conditions.

Officials have advised the public, particularly in hilly and mountainous areas, to remain cautious of possible lightning, brief snowfall, and reduced visibility, which may affect travel and outdoor activities.
