NEPSE rises 9.23 points on final trading day of the week



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 9.23 points on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, closing at 2,714.61 points.

Trading volume increased slightly, reaching Rs 9.07 billion compared to Rs 8.92 billion the previous day. Out of 260 listed companies, 162 saw their share prices rise, 88 declined, and 10 remained unchanged.

Among sectors, the finance group recorded the highest gain of 2.38 percent, while banking and trading indices fell by 0.31 percent and 1.15 percent, respectively.

Other sectors, including development banks, hotels and tourism, hydropower, investment, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, non-life insurance, and others, showed modest gains ranging from 0.02 to 1.51 percent.
