KATHMANDU: The National Assembly has unanimously passed the ‘Infectious Animal Disease (Control) Bill, 2083.’
Minister for Agriculture, Forests, and Environment Gita Chaudhary has presented a proposal seeking the bill’s passage during today’s session of the National Assembly.
Presenting the proposal, Minister Chaudhary briefed the Upper House on the current disease situation, the inadequacy of existing legal provisions for controlling infectious animal diseases, the bill’s objectives, and its key provisions.
She also noted that the clause-by-clause discussions held within the committee have made the Act more robust and practical for implementation.
National Assembly members Prem Prasad Dangal, Suresh Ale Magar, Khamba Bahadur Khati, Ram Kumari Jhakri, Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, and Samjhana Devkota participated in the discussion on the bill.
The next meeting of the National Assembly would be held on September 24. (RSS)
