Top End T20: Nepal to face NT Strike in opening match today



KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on hosts NT Strike in their opening match of the ongoing Top End T20 cricket tournament in Australia today. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:15 pm Nepali time.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has sent a 15-member Nepal ‘A’ squad to Australia under the captaincy of Anil Shah. The squad includes Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Tritaraj Das, Mayan Yadav, Pawan Sarraf, Deepak Dumre, Kushal Malla, Rashid Khan, Narayan Joshi, Akash Chand, Shahab Alam, Bipin Khatri, Yuvraj Khatri and Rijan Dhakal.

According to the tournament schedule, Nepal will play six matches in the league stage. Following today’s opening game against NT Strike, Nepal will face the Bangladesh ‘High-Performance’ team on August 22.

Nepal will then play the Hurricanes on August 24, the ACT Comets on August 26, the Kingsmen in its fifth match and Victoria in its final league match.

Nepal previously participated in the tournament’s last edition, winning two of its six matches and losing the remaining four.
