One killed, six injured in Jajarkot jeep accident



JAJARKOT: A 25-year-old man died and six others were injured when a jeep met with an accident in Jajarkot last evening.

The Bolero jeep, bearing registration number Lu 1 Cha 8227, veered off the road at Danepipal in Nalgad Municipality-7 while travelling from Tantra in Nalgad Municipality-9 towards Dalli along the Dolpa-Jajarkot road section.

According to the District Police Office, Jajarkot, Balkrishna Bohara, 25, of Nalgad Municipality-10 was seriously injured in the accident. He received initial treatment at the Municipal Hospital in Dalli before being referred to Provincial Hospital, Kalagaun, Surkhet, for further treatment.

Police Inspector Sudhir Kumar Khadka, Information Officer at the District Police Office, said Bohara died while being transported to the hospital.

The other injured passengers have been identified as Ganesh Dhyar, 26; Man Bahadur Bohara, 26; Samjhana Gahatara, 40; Rajendra Dhyar, 30; Ratna Kumari Bohara, 52; and Nikhil Sunar, 16, all from Nalgad Municipality-10. They are receiving treatment at the Municipal Hospital in Dalli.

Police have taken jeep driver Binod BK, 24, of Halchaur in Nalgad Municipality-8, into custody for investigation.
